Ara Lucia Ashburne, MS Candidate

Ara is trained in Gestalt Therapy at the Center for Consciousness Studies in Washington, D.C., and is training in the internal family systems model. She is also a certified Co-Active Coach from the Coaches Training Institute.

She works with adults and adolescents who are facing depression or anxiety and are seeking a life free from the limitations these challenges bring. She teaches a contemplative writing technique that can be used as a spiritual practice or as a mindfulness practice that can support the healing process. She is also a visual artist and received her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Art.

Ara is a second-year graduate student in the M.S. in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program at Illinois Institute of Technology. She is in her Practicum/Internship at Mind Body Connections in Naperville, supervised by Stacey Hurst, LCPC, GL-CMA.
