Beth is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Illinois, with her Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT). She is currently working under the clinical supervision of Stacey Hurst, LCPC, BC-DMT, GL-CMA. Beth works with adults of all ages navigating trauma, difficulty regulating emotions, identity exploration, anxiety, career development, relationship issues, self-advocacy, body image, and life transitions.
Beth values the eclectic nature of human experience and enjoys helping people identify their unique competencies and points-of-view. She believes movement, imagination, and connection can lead to healing and self-discovery.
Beth’s approach to counseling is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and body neutral, and her integrated theoretical approach draws from neurobiological, relational, and insight-centered perspectives. She uses mindfulness, sensation awareness, creativity, and movement to cultivate acceptance, agency, and self-understanding. Approaching sessions with curiosity and collaboration, Beth offers caring attention and space to connect with needs and values while developing helpful coping skills and narratives.
Leadership and Scholarship
Beth holds a bachelor degree (BA) in Dance from Columbia College of Chicago and a master’s degree (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. She has received Alternate Route Dance/Movement Therapy (AR-DMT) education through Embodied Education Institute of Chicago, Embodied Neurobiology, and Life is Movement Institute.
Beth is a member of the American Dance Therapy Association and is credentialed through the National Board for Certified Counselors. As an active member of the dance community, she continues to create and collaborate in the Chicago area.
